Yoga and Surfing are a match made in heaven. Like peanut butter and jelly, Yoga and Surfing compliment each other. Poses like Surya Namaskar (Sun Salutations), strengthen the arms and core, preparing the body for pop-up in surfing. Hip opening poses like Pigeon Pose, and Joint Opening Series, give you the flexibility needed to get low into an ideal surfing posture. Spinal Twisting poses like Marishiasana (Sage of Wind Pose), and Machindrasana (Lord of Fishes Pose) create flexibility and freedom in the nack, hips and spine, to make perfect turns in surfing.
